When David retired, Steve brought Terry Jacob, a grandson of Homer Jacob, into the operation and formed a partnership called Jacob Farms & Cattle. Later, with the continued growth of the farming operation and no apparent heirs to the operation, Steve and Terry decided to find a younger person to bring into the operation.
In 2003, they hired Ryan Speer from Dighton, Kansas to help manage the farm. Ryan was working as a agronomist at the Scott City Coop at the time. In 2007, Ryan joined Steve and Terry as a partner.
Today Jacob Farms & Cattle farms over 3500 acres, backgrounds feeder cattle in the winter and has a butcher beef operation. Steve, Terry, and Ryan bring two agricultural degrees along with over 50 combined years of experience to the operation. Their goal for the future is to continue the highest quality operation by adopting new farming techniques and practices, and by bringing in talented and motivated personnel.
